TrueDemand Announces a Strategic Relationship with VeriSign

The agreement enhances EPC-enabled replenishment applications with RFID and point-of-sale data. The integration of data from VeriSign's Intelligent Supply Chain Services Platform targetsiImprovements in supply chain and store-level operations

TrueDemand Software, Inc., a pioneer in the development of RFID-enabled enterprise applications, today [25 January 2005] announced a strategic relationship with VeriSign, the leading provider of intelligent infrastructure services for the Internet and telecommunications networks. Through the relationship, TrueDemand will integrate and provide forecasting and replenishment applications with real-time data from VeriSign's Intelligent Supply Chain Services platform. The combined solution will enable retailers and consumer goods companies to minimize out-of-stocks, improve new product introductions and promotions and optimize their replenishment processes.

“TrueDemand is an emerging leader with a unique vision for forecasting and replenishment applications that utilize real-time demand information across global supply networks,” said Jeff Richards, vice president of VeriSign Intelligent Supply Chain Services. “With the emergence of data from RFID technology and improved access to existing data, such as point-of-sale (POS), capturing and managing this information across supply networks becomes paramount. TrueDemand's use of the VeriSign platform demonstrates our commitment to working with leading application providers to deliver expanded functionality to their retail and consumer products manufacturing customers.”

TrueDemand will integrate RFID product movement data and POS data into its applications. The combined solution will enable customers to manage information emerging from ongoing RFID deployments throughout the supply chain.

“We are looking forward to developing a lasting relationship with VeriSign,” said Raymond Blanchard, vice president of business development, TrueDemand. “VeriSign's proven platform for retail data management, combined with their security expertise and experience in RFID and EPC make them an ideal partner for us. Working together, we will provide solutions that ensure that joint customers will be able to gain significant value from existing retail data, like POS, and build a foundation for value from emerging product movement data from RFID.”

TrueDemand Software, a pioneer in the development of RFID-enabled enterprise applications, provides a new class of predictive supply chain solutions that help solve supply chain execution and planning problems to reduce out-of-stocks and excess inventory. By combining RFID-based information with TrueDemand's business solutions, organizations can better manage the live replenishment of RFID-tagged inventory from production through sale across the supply-and-demand network. As a result, customers can better anticipate and proactively remedy supply chain problems before they occur, gaining greater value from their RFID investments. The TrueDemand team includes RFID innovators and proven supply chain experts instrumental in the advancement of RFID technology and the efforts of the Auto-ID Center, now EPC Global. Headquartered in Los Gatos, California, the company is backed by leading venture capital firms Mayfield and Bay Partners. Visit www.tdemand.com for more information.
